Hi folks, I'm posting this for a friend of mine.\001 This is the second of
two job openings that they're looking to fill.
Oracle Reporting Administrator position in San Francisco, CA (Fulltime
position)
The client will consider ONLY US Permanent Residents
Summary:
The Oracle Reporting Administrator will work within the existing Data
Analyst team and is responsible for supporting, maintaining and enhancing
the Oracle Discoverer and Hyperion environments in support of business
requirements. This position works with functional users and technical team
members to resolve both technical and functional system issues.
In addition the Oracle Reporting Administrator will create business
intelligence reports using Oracle Discoverer, Hyperion or other reporting
toolset for the user community. This includes the ongoing maintenance,
enhancement, and documentation for such solutions, as well as supporting
the use of any front ends or reporting tools required by the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing both the Hyperion and Discoverer systems.
Responsible for working with business representatives to translate
business requirements into technical specifications for use in developing
reports, files, and occasionally other applications or solutions. Tools
used may vary depending on circumstances and the specific user community
to be served. Request fulfillment may involve the constant juggling of
priorities to properly meet the business needs.
Responsible for validating, to a reasonable level, the accuracy of data
represented in developed reports before they are released for use. This
includes checking the data for *reasonableness*, validating to existing
production reports where possible, and working with the business requestor
to ensure proper selection criteria has been applied
Responsible for understanding, in collaboration with business
representatives, how different data elements are used by the business in
production systems, and how those data elements then should be reflected
in reports and decision support solutions.
Ensure the ongoing maintenance, enhancement and support of any reports or
solutions provided, so that they continue to meet business needs.
Provide troubleshooting support where requested for existing reporting
structures if they arise. Help reconcile discrepancies and develop more
accurate reporting means wherever possible.
Provide appropriate training to business customers running and using
reports, or ensure that training is provided. Assist in the development of
training for users regarding tools and data, and potentially conduct such
training where and when necessary.
Escalate priority conflicts regarding requests in reporting and project
queue to management where appropriate.
Document fully any report or solution to enable other members of IS to
support or maintain it if necessary.
Provides extensive input into Data Management priorities based on business
reporting needs.
Experience/Skills Required:
Minimum 7 years experience managing/designing/supporting Oracle eBusiness
Suite: Oracle 11i or 12, Oracle Discoverer/Hyperion Report Writing or
other reporting toolset.
Strong Project Management, Implementation, upgrade and maintenance
experience with regards to Oracle and reporting technologies.
Knowledge of Interfaces with Oracle. Ability to conduct business systems
analysis in a large-scale environment across multiple hardware and
software platforms.
Excellent working knowledge of the underlying Oracle Applications
structures and architecture.
Experience with MS SQL Server helpful. Must be comfortable working with
data of varying formats.
Ability to understand Entity Relationship (ER) Diagrams, and database
schema design.
Knowledge of HR/Finance business operations is preferred.
Knowledge of Workflow, Oracle Table Structures, Custom Forms, AIM
Methodology, and Notifications.
Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills and the
ability to clearly define projects, objectives, goals, schedules and
assignments.
Must possess the ability to work effectively with business personnel at
all levels as well as with outside vendors and contractors.
Must possess sound judgment for negotiating deliverables and timelines
with tact and diplomacy
Requires proficiency with varied types of computer hardware and software.
Requires proficiency with varied computer and network operating systems.
Must posses a general knowledge of all bank operations.
Requires comfort with project management principles.
Requires strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
Must exercise a reasonable amount of independent judgment under a minimum
of supervision.
Requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the
ability to meet deadlines, follow written policies and procedures, and
maintain superior customer service at all times with all users.
Education Requirements:
Four-year college degree preferred with an emphasis in a computer related
field or the equivalent skill, knowledge and mental development.
