I'm unclear whether this is located in Fremont or SOMA district of SF.
(Their human resources person's email included Penguin Computing's Fremont
address, but at the end of the job posting, it mentions SOMA.)
I've asked, and if I hear back, I'll update the posting I put up over
at http://www.lugod.org/jobs/
In the meantime...

Please send your answers to the question in the section below called
"Application Questions", your resume and your salary expectations to
jobs at penguincomputing.com. If you have a technical blog or on-line
examples of your work, please point us there. The answers to the questions
should take no more then 20 minutes to complete. Feel free to use as much
or as little detail as you deem reasonable. All applications with answers
will be considered. Please note we are not in a position to offer visa
sponsorship at this time.
Application Questions:
Q1: You don't want to type your password when you ssh into a machine. What
can you use to accomplish this? Are there any security concerns with
your approach?
Q2: A machine is described as being "really slow". What are the first
couple of things you would check?
Q3: Write a one-line command that prints a unique list of users running
processes on the system. Can you number them on a per-user basis? Are
there any exceptions or "gotchas" to your solution?
Q4: Describe a project you were really excited about. This could be a
custom Linux install, a hardware hack... anything you were real excited to
work on. (limit this answer to 2 paragraphs.)
