SENIOR SECURITY INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT
As a senior member of the Technical Infrastructure Architecture & Engineering Team, the A&E Architect is responsible for understanding current and future business needs and defining the product strategy to achieve new IT capabilities. This position relies on a broad knowledge of IT technologies including systems, security, network, storage, database, and enterprise tooling and works in conjunction with other A&E and Solution Architects to fully support each business portfolio. The incumbent will demonstrate the ability to communicate and establish effective relationships, prepare and present briefings on complex / controversial issues, communicate complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel, and play a key role in gaining approval of requests for Enterprise wide IT initiatives.
Qualifications:
Minimum 12 years of aggregate IT experience in a large-scale environment to include infrastructure design and optimization, strategic technology planning, large-scale system integration, global infrastructure support and administration, business continuity planning and execution
Minimum 8 years in a senior level technical role in Network Security with a solid understanding of Risk and Compliance.
Minimum 5 years in the retail industry preferred
BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science or related
Results oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action
Genuine desire to provide superior customer service
Strong communication and leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to lead and influence technical professionals across the enterprise
Comfortable with ambiguity as needs change on a regular basis with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency
Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to interact with senior management, technical subject matter experts, and business customers are essential in this role
Ability to work on multiple, simultaneous initiatives of which he/she will apply their applicable business, technical and system functionality background
Technical Skills:
Possess working knowledge of a wide range of technologies and related best practices, with in-depth knowledge of 3 or more areas, including but not necessarily limited to:
Server: Unix (AIX, Solaris), Linux (SUSE, Red Hat), Windows, VMWare
Network / Security: Router, Switch, Firewall, Load Balancers, VPN, TCP/ IP, DNS
Storage: SAN, NAS, Fiber Channel, Enterprise Backup
Database: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 UDB
Directory: Active Directory, LDAP, RACF, Sun Identity and Access Management
Application Server: J2EE (WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic), .NET (ASP.NET, IIS)
Enterprise Tooling: Infrastructure Monitoring and Event Management (BMC Patrol, BEM), Network Automation (NetCool Precision, HP NNM), Remedy ITSM / CMDB, End to End application monitoring, BSM and SLM solutions
Strong understanding of ITIL service support and service delivery
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Continuously drive the conception of innovative programs and processes across the department and with the business community whilst maintaining a big picture view of technological plans and their benefits to business services
Cultivate an organizational culture that provides for high performance, high morale, integrity, and teamwork among the design engineers, implementation engineers and support engineers
Maintain knowledge of IT enterprise architecture standards and practices, and ensure these are consistently applied across the organization
Support the delivery of a specific business unit and ISP infrastructure projects within IT and provide consultation for impact to business and application portfolios; ensure alignment to corporate infrastructure architectural standards and strategy
Provide consultation for multiple areas of technology to project efforts within various IT areas and/or external service providers
Ensure that infrastructure architectures are flexible and support the business needs by maintaining an understanding of business strategies and infrastructure capabilities
Identify existing IT software assets for new opportunities through project and program involvement and provide direction for exploiting current assets
Provide consultation for broad areas of technology to project efforts within various IT areas and/or external service providers
Define the infrastructure architectural standards and practices by applying industry best practices and technology developments
Interact with contacts across the enterprise for providing and receiving consultations
Act as a role model and change agent by providing technical leadership to design engineers, implementation engineers, support engineers, software architects, and application developers
