I'm not sure why you're bringing those up, since AFAICT this post falls
under neither of those categories ("discussing a job" or "posting a
resume"). It's most closely related to "posting a resume", and yet I
would assume that one is intended for folks living in or around Davis,
or at least having some connection to LUGOD, rather than random people
in random locations.

Sure. But this isn't someone involved in the club (not that I can really
claim to be, myself; I'm not even subscribed to plain-old-vox anymore,
though at least I'm close enough to Davis to consider a reloc).

Well, I guess that's a question of what the list rules _are_, then. My
understanding was that it still had to be of some potential interest to
LUGODders. To my mind, job opportunities on the east coast are of some
potential interest, whereas people in the east coast _looking_ for
opportunities on the east coast aren't really.

I don't particularly care one way or another, especially if it's just
the odd post every now and then. But if it started becoming a trend, and
vox-jobs became a general job-posting board rather than one with a
specific focus, then I suspect it would lose its value for a lot of folks.

Please note that I'm not trying to affect policy, just raise the
question. My vote really shouldn't count for much, since I'm not
particularly within the target membership of vox-jobs anyway.
