Open Source Engineer / Principal SW Engineer;

Primary Job Responsibilities: 

Provide an oversight for Linux/U-Boot code submitted by AMCC to Open
Source 
community. Develop relationships with the U-Boot and Linux kernel
community.
Needs to posses wide experience in Linux kernel development, preferably
on PowerPC
processors. Deep understanding of Open Source project philosophy.
Knowledge of bootloaders and JTAG debuggers.

Education Requirement or Equivalent: 

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
required, MS preferred.

Experience Requirement:

10 years  embedded S/W development experience with BS, 8 years embedded
S/W development experience with MS. 


Special Skills or Knowledge Required:

*Extensive programming in C  is required 

*Candidate must have an excellent computer science background and
demonstrated 

 strength in designing efficient embedded code 

*Solid background in software development, a demonstrated ability to
lead development  

 projects and deliver products on time with good quality 

*Excellent understanding of Linux is required 

*Must be able to work with ASIC and software engineers in a small team
environment
*Must be self-motivated with excellent problem solving skills, and have
good written and  

  verbal communication skills
*Experience with PowerPC or other 32-bit RISC micro-controllers is
preferred.
