We have an immediate need for a part time Junior Network/system
Administrator/technologist who can work with Senior Network/system
Administrator to manage our day to day technology needs. The position
entails assisting in managing our servers, implementing new technology.

Position:

* Part time, hours are flexible.
* Mixture of desktop support and server/network maintenance.
* Opportunity to learn about enterprise level IT infrastructure,
forward planning, and implementation.

Requirements:

2+ years troubleshooting/working with Windows XP. (MS Office, Mozilla
Thunderbird, Outlook, multimedia applications).
* 2+ years troubleshooting/working with Linux desktop/server.
(RedHat style Linux, Evolution Email, Gnome, KDE, NFS, NIS ,
Samba).
* Understanding of TCP/IP LAN and WAN and VPN technologies.
* Ability to install, configure and manage software and
applications on Linux and windows (RPMs, Windows apps).
* Basic HTML knowledge.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Characteristics:

* Experience with network backups is a plus.
* Experience with Solaris and Sun hardware.
* Experience with Cisco, DNS, DHCP, NFS, NIS , is a plus.
* Experience with collaboration/development servers - Bugzilla,
Apache, TWiki, SVN.
* Timeliness, attention to detail and accuracy are critical to
this position.
* Hard working; Ability to multitask and complete projects
quickly.
* Creativity and a willingness to learn.

Position is located in Santa Clara.
