I dunno. Obviously, a number of subscribers/"members" aren't exactly in
"Davis (and surrounding areas)", depending on how large an "area" we
define, but out-of-state may be a bit of a stretch.

Still, if I were looking for work, I'd probably be interested in
attractive posts regarding jobs in Oregon... though I believe there was
a recent post regarding jobs in NJ/NY area, which probably has less
attraction for most on this list...

I have no real preference in this matter, but I think if it /is/ decided
that we want to tighten down on regions to be considered "topical" for
this list, then we would probably want to limit it to nothing further
than the "nearby" states (OR, NV, AZ)...

Still, since we actually have a separate, jobs-only list, I suspect that
people don't care that much if the occaisional out-of-state job posting
shows up: many unemployed linux geeks are probably pretty happy to be
informed of linux jobs anywhere in the states. It'd be a different story
if such posts were still going to vox.

Personally, I'm for leaving 'em in, at least for now. At the moment,
out-of-state posts are fairly occaisional. If we start to receive very
significant percentages of posts from out-of-state, we could re-evaluate
then...

Beau's follow-up to your post raises an important issue, though: it may
be worthwhile to update the description of vox-jobs (and perhaps the
other lugod) to emphasize the fact that it is a list for members of
the Linux Users Group Of Davis, and is mostly read by folks in the
general area of Davis, California.
