JOB SUMMARY:

Application and Utilities Administrator.

Maintain and support the development and Production application and Unix environments. Drive problem resolution to their completion, and support all tasks within the Development and Production environments from a technical bias.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Escalating and communicating operational problem issues and their resolution to appropriate management and peers. Reviewing and managing system changes and upgrades. Reporting success in daily turnover; and ensuring operational stability of business-critical distributed applications/systems that are located at both locations. Monitoring all systems. Monitor system utilization and capacity. Perform daily data back-up and retention. Apache webserver, Web Logic server, Oracle DB server / tuning / support, Interwoven, Web trends config /support, FTP server admin. 

Scripting experience capable of enabling off the shelf applications to work with other existing applications This position will provide on-call emergency shift coverage.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in administering a UNIX (AIX, Solaris) and or monitoring batch systems environments. Understanding of Windows NT systems is desirable. An understanding of Web site operations and Sun hardware is required. The position must have communication skills with internal IT groups and Business units. Shell programming, C/C++ desirable. Java and HTML experience desirable. Must possess the ability to make decisions in a high-impact, high-criticality environment. 

An excellent understanding of business impacts related to web and critical back office systems, as well as an understanding of impacts related to web and internal customers are required. Application support and integrating new code into the environments. Knowledge of Development and Production support utilities.

Education:
Associates of Arts required.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred.
