Join LUGOD this month for an introduction to the world of Linux and
Free/Open-Source software by Kevin Weedon!

This month's introductory talk is about the philosophy of the GNU/Linux
operating system, and why more people are choosing it every day. Kevin will
be touching on the ease of use, flexibility, security, and the control over
the operating system that Linux provides, as well as what variants of Linux
are available and how to choose the right one for your needs. There will be
a question and answer session afterwards to help get you the answers you
need to get started.

This is a great opportunity to bring your friends and family who have an
interest in Linux, but may not know why they should choose Free/Open-Source
software, or how to get started.
