[This is a re-send of the upcoming meeting notice. A problem with
Microsoft lead to many people on the list who have a
Microsoft/Office365-backed email system, such as much of @ucdavis.edu
as well as several other domains and individuals, not receiving the
monthly meeting email. Apologies if this is a duplicate to you. The
details of tonight's meeting have not changed. - Tim]

When:
Monday, 07/16
7pm-9pm

Where:
Explorit Nature Center
3141 5th Street
Davis, CA 95616

LUGOD members and friends,

At this month's meeting, a special election for club secretary will be
held, and then member Ted Sternberg will be starting a discussion on
the foundations of basic internet safety that everyone should be
familiar with.

You'll find answers to questions such as:

* what the lock icon in your browser means
* what https:// means
* what security exception warnings are all about
* what incognito mode really does
* why your email is probably not as secure as you think.

Come prepared with your own questions and contribute your own
experiences in internet safety to this group discussion that is open
to LUGOD members, guests, and the public!
