As a relatively new Linux user, Kevin will share his experiences
installing Linux for the first time, including how to find and install
free, Open-Source software alternatives to popular non-free software
packages. He'll touch on a simple introduction to installing software
with different package managers, as well as a few beginner tips and
tricks for using the command line.

Don't forget that this is also LUGOD officer election season!
Elections are held annually, at the November general meeting--that's
this meeting, on 11/20/2017. If you'd like to nominate yourself or
someone else for an officer position for 2018, please email the club
Secretary at typescript at lugod.org as soon as possible.
