The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD) will be holding the following meeting:

Presentation:
  Purely Functional Package Management with Nix
  presented by Eric Rasmussen

  This presentation will introduce the Nix package manager, demonstrating
  how to get started quickly with declarative packages on your favorite
  Linux distro or even Mac OS X.  We'll also cover the NixOS Linux distro
  built on top of Nix, including declarative configuration management,
  reproducible builds, and tools for simplifying deployments. Come learn
  about an emerging community working to take the pain out of package
  management for everyone on Linux.

About the speaker:
  Eric Rasmussen is an OSS contributor, functional programmer, and lead
  software developer at NewCars.com/Cars.com.
