The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD) will be holding its next meeting on:

  Monday
  December 21, 2009
  7:00pm - 9:00pm

The meeting will be held at:

  Explorit Science Center
  Mace Ranch Facility
  3141 5th Street
  Davis, California 95616

Presentation:

  JRuby

  Presented by:
    Don Werve

JRuby is an implementation of the "Ruby" programming language,
implemented in Java. JRuby is tightly integrated with Java to allow
the embedding of the interpreter into any Java application with full
two-way access between the Java and the Ruby code.

This talk will go over the differences between Ruby MRI (the reference
implementation of Ruby, written in C) and JRuby in detail, as well as
showing how easy it is to leverage the Java side without ever having
to touch the Java programming language.
