The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD), will be holding the following
meetings in June and July:

  What:  "Tux Paint, Again"
  Where: Davis Public Library, 315 East 14th Street in Davis

  Tux Paint is an Open Source paint program for young children.
  Bill Kendrick, lead developer and project maintainer, will discuss the
  technical side of recent improvements to the application, including
  Scalable Vector Graphics clipart support and input methods for
  languages such as Japanese and Korean.

  What:  "Post-Processing HDR Panoramas Using Open Source Tools"
  Where: (Location To Be Announced)

  This talk will present Open Source tools that can be used to
  post-process High Dynamic Range (HDR) photographs and panoroamas.

  This may include (depending on what works best at the time of the talk):

    * Hugin (panorama photo stitcher),
    * PFSTools (read, write, manipulate and view HDR images),
    * PFScalibration (photometric calibration of HDR and LDR cameras),
    * PFSTmo (tone mapping operators), and
    * dcraw (decodes Raw, unprocessed CCD data files). 

  About the Speaker:

    Steve is "a Geek of Many Things," currenly employed as a
    consultant for Verisign.
