Linux Engineering Update
Presented by:
Sunil Mushran, Sr. Dev. Mgr., Oracle Linux Engineering Group
Todd Trichler, Sr. Principal Product Mgr., Oracle Technology Network
This talk will cover some of the latest changes in OCFS2
(Oracle Cluster File System 2; http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs2/ )
and the advantages of clustering; how to choose the right files system
for your enterprise storage needs, highlighting some of the strengths
of various Linux files systems commonly used in corporate data centers.
It will be followed by a general Q&A around some of the activities, and
contributions from Oracle's Linux Engineering Team.

There will also be a brief progress report on Oracle's usage of Linux
internally, filled with data points that will be useful for developers
trying to convince their 'pointy-haired bosses' to make the switch to
Linux.
About the Speakers:
Sunil Mushran is a Senior Development manager in Oracle's Linux
Engineering Group. His team includes the developers and maintainers
for OCFS2 and ASMLib (a Linux kernel driver library addon for the
Automatic Storage Manager of Oracle Database 10g;
http://oss.oracle.com/projects/oracleasm/ ).
Todd Trichler is an Oracle veteran of eight years, having worked in
alliances, product management, and marketing. As Senior Principal
Product Manager for OTN, he has been working closely with development
to drive Oracle's engagements with JUGs, LUGs, PUGs and other members
of the Java, Linux, and PHP technical communities.
