In May, the Whole Earth Festival (WEF) takes place at UC Davis, and
the Government Technology Conference (GTC West 2007) returns to the
Sacramento Convention Center.

LUGOD has participated at both of these events in the past...

LUGOD member Govind Tatachari (who helped LUGOD at past GTCs), along with
Siva Prasad and Subramaniyam Pooni, have stepped forward and shown interest
in seeing LUGOD participate in these events again this year.
This year, local groups like ours have been invited by Bart Battaglia
(Director of Technical Resources of Stanfield Systems Inc. in Folsom) to
participate in GTC through a "Professional Organizations of Sacramento"
umbrella group. Details regarding this has been passed along to Govind and
Siva, and hopefully we'll hear back soon as to whether and how LUGOD can
participate in this year's GTC.
The application deadline for participating in Whole Earth Festival is
only one week away (April 1st), and unless Govind, Siva and Subramaniyam
are available to do it, we'll need a volunteer to coordinate LUGOD's
presence at the festival, and fill out and submit the application.
You Can Help!
Volunteers will be needed for both of these events. If you're willing and
able to help in any of the following ways, please let us know by posting
a message to LUGOD's event coordination mailing list, "vox-outreach"
