The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD), will be holding a meeting on:

Presentation:

  Sybase on Linux

  Presented by: Patrick Enright, Sybase Inc.

    This talk will provide a brief update on this history of Sybase
    over the course of their 20 years, with an update on Sybase's
    involvement on the Linux platform, as well as a detailed technical
    brief on the Sybase products that integrate with the Linux
    platform.  It will be followed by interactive demonstrations of
    Sybase's Linux products to the Sybase Developer Network and
    CodeXchange.

  About Sybase:
    Sybase was the first company to deliver an enterprise-class database
    management system (DMBS) for Linux, in 1999.  Sybase's Linux products
    currently include their flagship relational DMBS, Sybase Adaptive
    Server Enterprise (ASE), Sybase IQ (an analytical engine), Sybase
    Replication Server (for replicating data among heterogeneous
    platforms), EAServer and SQL Anywhere Studio (a mobile and embedded
    database).

  About the Speaker:
    Patrick Enright joined Sybase in March of 2004 in the role of
    Director of Developer Evangelism, his responsibilities range from
    managing the Sybase Developer Network to assisting in the setting of
    product strategy for Sybase.  He is also responsible for managing
    Sybase's WorldWide Partner Program.  Prior to joining Sybase,
    Mr. Enright spent 13 years at Oracle Corporation, in roles ranging
    from product development to product sales.
