The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD), will be holding a meeting on:

  Monday
  November 21, 2005
  6:30pm - 9:00pm


The meeting will be held at:

  Davis Public Library
  Blanchard meeting room
  315 East 14th St.
  Davis, California 95616


The topic will be:

  "Publishing Computer Books"

  presented by: William Pollock, No Starch Press

    San Francisco-based No Starch Press publishes distinctive books on
    computing -- such as "Hacking: The Art of Exploitation,"
    "Linux for Non-Geeks" and "The Cult of Mac" -- with a focus on
    open source/Linux, security, hacking, programming, and alternative
    operating systems.

    William Pollock, who founded No Starch Press in 1994 (and in 1997 was
    a co-founder of computer book publisher Apress), will discuss how
    No Starch makes books, the state of the book publishing business,
    recent changes in the distribution model, and other topics.


Also:

  LUGOD officer nominations will be accepted between this meeting and
  December's meeting, at which point officer elections begin.
