The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD), will be holding a meeting on:

The meeting will be held at:

The topic will be:
IP Video and Multicast Streaming
presented by: Ted Deppner
Multicast is the delivery of information to multiple destinations
simultaneously using the most efficient strategy to deliver the
messages over each link of the network only once and only create
copies when the links to the destinations split.
Ted will discuss how streaming Internet video works, and
demonstrate streaming video and playback using Video Lan Client (VLC)
