  Monday
  April 18, 2005
  6:30pm - 9:00pm

The meeting will be held at:

  Davis, California 95616

The topic will be:

  DavisWiki
presented by: Philip Neustrom & Mike Ivanov

A 'wiki' is a website that allows visitors to both add and edit
content. It enables documents to be written collectively in a simple
markup language using only a web browser. A defining characteristic of
wiki technology is the ease with which pages can be created and
updated. Generally, there is no review before modifications are
accepted, and most wikis are open to the general public -- or at least
anyone who has access to the wiki server.

The Davis Wiki (www.daviswiki.org) contains over 3000 pages of
information about various aspects of life in Davis, California.
    (For example, how to get around town; where to find vegetarian meals;
where to find WiFi hot spots; and what LUGOD is.)

About the Speakers:

Philip Neustrom and Mike Ivanov are co-creators of Davis Wiki.
Together they have contributed over 300 pages and 400 images to the site,
and made over 5000 edits to the site.

Philip is a mathematics major at UC Davis, and Mike is a UCD graduate
  with a BS in mathematics.
