The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD), will be holding a meeting on:

  Tuesday
  July 6, 2004
  6:30pm - 9:00pm


The meeting will be held at our regular location:

  Davis Public Library
  315 East 14th Street
  Davis, CA 95616


The topic will be:

  Tools for SOA Web Programs -- using Dynamic Objects
  presented by: Sheng-Chuan Wu & Charley Cox, Franz, Inc.

    Sheng-Chuan Wu and Charley Cox will discuss why Service Oriented
    Application (SOA) Web Service technology represents the future of
    application development and especially for Business-to-Business (B2B)
    application integration, and why one should embrace this technology now.
    They will explain why Lisp server tools are uniquely suited to helping
    developers create powerful Web Service applications quickly and
    economically.

  About the Speakers:

    Sheng-Chuan Wu: Ph.D. in Structural Mechanics and Computer Graphics from
    Cornell University.  Had many years of experience in the CAD/CAM/CAE
    industry prior to joining Franz in the early 90's.  Currently Vice
    President for Corporate Development.

    Charley Cox: MS in Computer Science and Mathematics from UC Berkeley,
    majored in Artificial Intelligence.  Had programmed in Lisp for more
    than 20 years.  Currently Senior Software Developer at Franz Inc.
