The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD), will be holding a meeting on:

  Monday

  6:30pm - 9:00pm
  (Doors open at 6:00pm; please try to arrive on-time!)


The meeting will be held at our normal location:

The topic will be:

  Affero: Rating & Reputation Service for Online Works
  presented by: Chris Reed, Affero, Inc.

    Affero enables recognition of valuable online interactions.  They provide
    the means to offer feedback and say "thank you" for support and
    information provided via ratings and monetary donations to non/profit
    organizations without disrupting the natural dialogue in the community.
 
    Affero combines a peer based reputation system with a commerce system.
    It enables individuals to rate other individuals and make payments on
    their behalf.  Any person can rate another person's contribution.

    The system doesn't come bundled with any particular forum or community
    platform, so any independent community host can integrate the services
    and individuals can share reputation across various communities
    (mailing lists, web forums, web logs (blogs), and so on).
